Project Management - What is it?
Many Businesses use little or no project management and wonder why they have problems. Any business that has to work to a set time scale and cost, to maintain or install equipment or have a prolonged cyclic work process need good project management. Project Management is:
- The ordering of project tasks into a logical sequence and setting time-scales.
- Working out the interaction of tasks and the order in which they need to be tackled.
- Allocating tasks to resources.
- Instructing and agreeing, with human resources, the tasks they have to perform.
- Providing the right tools for the task.
- Monitoring the progress of work against the project plan.
- Determining the effects of task changes on the total project.
- Managing resources, both human and non-human.
- Organising Subcontractors and controlling their operation.
- Keeping the Customer informed and happy.
- Management of project finances.
- Making a profit for the company
There is no size limit. Project Management can be used for a task, such as building a small porch on to a house, to launching a rocket to Mars.

Allow jobs to be completed on time and at cost. Allow you to use your resources to their best advantage. Show your Customers that you really can meet deadlines. Improve your profitability.
